Onwa KP-39A Latest Compact GPS/AIS Chartplotter 7 inch Display Class B AIS Transponder built in runs C-Map MAX or the Onwa K-charts From my experience to date, the Onwa is phenomenally good value - for its price (around £550) it gives a 7” colour chart plotter, UK and Northern European charts (their own “K Charts”), Class A AIS (receiver), Class B AIS (transmitter) and it interfaces with a DSC VHF. For my purposes, it does everything I need. The KP-39A by ONWA is a GPS Chart Plotter with: 7″ Colour Display; In-built Class B AIS Transponder; Free pre-programmed K-Charts; Due to these reasons it makes the KP-39A a trusted choice. It is small, compact and eliminates the need for two separate units (Chart Plotter and AIS). I have just purchased an Onwa KP-39A. For less than the cost of an AIS transceiver you get an AIS with display , a 7" chartplotter with free worldwide K charts and a microSD slot for CMaps. With a power requirement of just over 0.5A it seems the perfect all in one solution for a small boat. It is properly CE marked and there are 2 UK dealers.
